Samsung has announced its Exynos 2600, touted as the world’s first 2nm process system-on-chip (SoC) expected to debut in the Galaxy S26 series. This cutting-edge manufacturing process marks a major milestone in mobile processors. Samsung’s new chip promises substantial improvements in efficiency, thermal management, and performance compared to earlier generations built on larger process nodes. Architectural changes include replacing traditional power-efficient cores with a new balance of performance and efficiency cores, resulting in up to 39% better CPU performance and more than 113% higher on-device AI capabilities. The integrated Exynos Xclipse 960 GPU shows significant graphics advancements, potentially supporting camera sensors up to 320MP and delivering richer graphics performance for games and multimedia tasks. Samsung’s bold move to mass-produce 2nm silicon could give it an edge over rivals like Qualcomm and Apple, which are also racing toward similar technology.
