Honor Confirms Magic8 Pro Air Launch on January 19 in China

Honor has officially confirmed the launch date of its next Magic-series smartphone. Following a series of teasers, the brand revealed that the device will debut under the name Honor Magic8 Pro Air.

The ultra-slim handset is scheduled to be unveiled in China on January 19. Promotional teasers and recent leaks indicate that the phone will measure just 6.3mm in thickness and weigh approximately 155 grams, positioning it as one of the lightest flagship-grade devices in its segment.

Leaked renders show a triple-camera system on the rear, arranged inside a rounded, pill-style camera module. The design draws strong visual parallels with the rumored iPhone Air and also echoes elements of Google’s Pixel camera visor aesthetic. The main camera is expected to feature a 50MP sensor with a large 1/1.3-inch imaging unit, suggesting a focus on improved low-light performance and overall image quality.

While Honor has not yet released an official specs sheet, the device has already appeared for pre-order in storage configurations of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Based on circulating reports, the Magic8 Pro Air is also tipped to include a 6.3-inch AMOLED display, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, and a 5,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, a technology known for supporting higher energy density in slimmer form factors.

More details are expected to emerge as the launch event approaches.
