After weeks of teasers, Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Redmi Turbo 5 Max in China. The new smartphone stands out with its huge 9,000mAh battery and becomes the first device globally to be powered by MediaTek’s newly announced Dimensity 9500s chipset.
The Dimensity 9500s SoC is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and offers storage options of up to 512GB using fast UFS 4.1 technology. To ensure stable performance during heavy usage, Redmi has equipped the device with a large surface-area vapor chamber cooling system.
Battery life is one of the key highlights of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. The 9,000mAh cell supports 100W fast wired charging along with 27W wired reverse charging. Xiaomi’s P3 fast-charging chip and G1 battery management system are also included to enhance efficiency and safety.
On the front, the phone features a 6.83-inch 12-bit AMOLED display made with M10 luminescent material, capable of reaching up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and a 480Hz touch sampling rate for a smooth viewing experience. A 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and a 20MP front-facing camera are also housed on the front.
For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP Light Fusion 600 primary sensor with OIS, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
The smartphone runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and comes with stereo speakers. Additional features include an infrared sensor, dual-SIM support, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and a durability rating of up to IP69K.
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max is now available in China through Xiaomi’s official online store in Auspicious Cloud White, Ocean Blue, Sunshine Orange, and Shadow Black color options.
Pricing starts at CNY 2,499 (around $360) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 12GB/512GB model is priced at CNY 2,799 ($400), while the 16GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB versions cost CNY 2,799 ($400) and CNY 3,099 ($445), respectively.
