Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Tipped to Feature a Custom Snapdragon Processor

As Samsung prepares to launch the Galaxy S26 series next month, rumors continue to swirl around the company’s chipset strategy for future flagships. Earlier reports hinted that Samsung could transition to more in-house silicon for the next generation. However, a new leak suggests the brand is sticking with a familiar approach for its top-tier model.

According to well-known Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will once again rely exclusively on a Snapdragon processor. The device is said to feature a custom Qualcomm chip, reportedly named the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.

This bespoke chipset is expected to be manufactured using Samsung’s advanced 2nm process. With TSMC reportedly facing capacity constraints, more chipmakers are turning to Samsung Foundry, which is also said to have resolved earlier yield challenges.

Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus are tipped to use Samsung’s next-generation Exynos 2600 SoC, if current rumors hold true.
