Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Tipped to Feature 60W Fast Charging, a Major Upgrade Over 45W

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to receive a significant charging boost ahead of its official launch. A new leak claims that Samsung may finally upgrade its long-standing 45W wired fast charging limit on its premium Ultra flagship, introducing support for 60W wired charging instead. The change, if confirmed, could deliver considerably faster charging times and help Samsung better compete with rival brands already offering higher speeds.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Reach 75% Charge in 30 Minutes

Well-known tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) reports that Samsung’s internal testing shows 60W fast wired charging working on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. In a post on X, the tipster claimed the device can charge from 0% to 75% in 30 minutes, based on controlled lab testing using certified chargers, compatible cables, and optimized settings.

The tipster emphasized that actual charging performance may differ in everyday use. Variables such as room temperature, charger efficiency, battery condition, and whether the phone is being used while charging can impact speeds. Still, the rumored jump to 60W would represent a clear improvement over the 45W charging used in previous Galaxy Ultra models, offering Samsung users quicker top-ups and shorter wait times.

Certification Listing Hints at 60W Charging Support

Previous leaks also pointed to a charging upgrade, and a new certification sighting appears to support those claims. A Samsung device carrying the model number SM-S9480 was reportedly spotted on China’s 3C certification platform, listing support for 60W wired charging at 20V / 3A output. The listing also suggested that the phone will not include a charger in the retail box, consistent with Samsung’s recent packaging strategy.

The certification details align with earlier reports that Samsung may brand the feature as Super Fast Charging 3.0. References to “Level 4” charging were also discovered in leaked One UI 8.5 firmware, adding further weight to the charging upgrade rumors. Additionally, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to support 25W Qi2 wireless charging, including improved magnetic alignment, and may also include built-in 25W Qi2 support.

Samsung May Introduce an Official 25W Magnetic Qi2 Charger

More leaks suggest that Samsung could launch a new 25W magnetic wireless charger alongside the Galaxy S26 series. The accessory is believed to be undergoing internal testing, potentially making it Samsung’s first official Qi2 magnetic charging product.

Launch Timeline & Testing Progress

Samsung is reportedly already running internal trials of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, signaling that development is advancing ahead of schedule. The device is expected to debut next month, with the official unveiling rumored for late February. Recent reports also claim that testing is nearing final stages ahead of the anticipated launch event.
